Overview
Grand Crest Interior Decoration L.L.C (GCID), a United Arab Emirates (U.A.E) based company specializing in interior design, decoration, and turnkey fit-out solutions, is committed to safeguarding the health, safety, and environmental well-being of its employees, subcontractors, vendors, affiliates, clients, and all other stakeholders affected by its operations. GCID aims to execute all projects with the highest safety standards and minimal environmental impact, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry best practices. All affiliated parties are expected to uphold the same commitment to HSE excellence.

Objectives

Promote a safe and healthy working environment for GCID personnel, subcontractors, vendors, and affiliates.

Identify, minimize, and manage workplace hazards across all levels of operation.

Maintain equipment and tools in safe working conditions for all parties involved.

Ensure the safe use, handling, storage, and transportation of materials by all stakeholders.

Provide appropriate training, supervision, and information to enable hazard-free operations for GCID staff and affiliated parties.

Supply and enforce the use of adequate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) across GCID and its affiliates.

Comply with all environmental regulations and pursue continual improvement in sustainability.

Minimize the company’s carbon footprint and actively support environmental protection initiatives.
Article I: Health Policy
GCID’s health policy aims to mitigate long-term occupational health risks for all stakeholders, including subcontractors, vendors, and affiliates, by:

Identifying potential health hazards and implementing controls to reduce risks to acceptable levels.

Ensuring GCID employees are covered by comprehensive health insurance and requiring subcontractors and vendors to provide the same for their personnel.

Promoting awareness of insurance benefits and long-term health hazards among all workers and affiliated parties.

Providing access to healthcare facilities for GCID employees and ensuring subcontractors and vendors adhere to equivalent standards for their personnel.

Educating workers on ergonomic practices and chemical exposure mitigation to reduce long-term health risks.
Article II: Safety Standards
GCID ensures workplace safety by adhering to these principles:

Conducting regular training programs, safety inductions, and toolbox talks for GCID staff and all affiliated personnel, including subcontractors and vendors.

Maintaining and regularly inspecting safety equipment, including fire extinguishers, first-aid kits, and signage, to ensure readiness.

Enforcing the use of PPE tailored to specific tasks for all workers on site, including:

Eye and Face Protection: Safety glasses or shields to guard against chemical splashes, flying debris, or harmful radiation.

Respiratory Protection: Masks to mitigate exposure to toxic fumes, dust, or low-oxygen environments.

Head Protection: Helmets designed to protect against falling objects or electrical hazards.

Extremities Protection: Gloves and footwear to prevent injuries from sharp objects, burns, or electrical exposure.

Ensuring site-specific Health & Safety plans are in place and accessible to all workers, including subcontractors and vendors.

Imposing disciplinary measures for non-compliance, ranging from warnings to contract termination, applicable to GCID personnel and all affiliated parties.

Establishing site-specific rules for all personnel, including:

Interior Construction Workers:

Follow all safety instructions provided during induction and toolbox talks.

Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools and equipment.
-
Adhere to designated work zones and avoid unauthorized areas.

Report unsafe conditions, incidents, or near-misses immediately to supervisors.

Take responsibility for housekeeping duties, ensuring work areas are clean, neat, and free of debris at the end of each shift.

Organize tools and materials in designated storage areas.
-
Separate combustible materials and store them in approved locations.
-
Avoid overstocking storage areas to prevent hazards.

Dispose of waste at designated collection points promptly.

Site Supervisors:

Conduct daily safety inspections and ensure compliance with HSE policies.

Monitor workers’ adherence to safety practices, including the use of PPE and housekeeping standards.

Facilitate toolbox talks and enforce site-specific safety plans.
-
Ensure that first-aid kits and emergency equipment are accessible and functional.

Oversee the proper organization and maintenance of storage areas.

All Site Personnel:

Refrain from horseplay or any behavior that may endanger others.

Cooperate during safety drills and follow emergency protocols.

Maintain cleanliness and organization within the work area to prevent accidents.

Smoking is strictly prohibited on all GCID sites to ensure safety and compliance with fire regulations.
Article III: Fire-Life Safety
GCID is committed to ensuring fire-life safety practices follow all applicable regulations and requirements by:

Conducting regular fire risk assessments on all project sites to identify and mitigate potential fire hazards.

Providing fire extinguishers, fire blankets, and other firefighting equipment at strategic locations on each site.

Ensuring all personnel are trained in the proper use of firefighting equipment and are aware of fire evacuation procedures.

Establishing clearly marked emergency exits and evacuation routes that are kept unobstructed at all times.

Storing combustible and flammable materials in designated areas equipped with fire suppression systems or safety measures.

Prohibiting smoking and open flames in areas where combustible materials are stored or used.

Conducting periodic fire drills to ensure that all personnel are familiar with evacuation protocols and can respond promptly in emergencies.
